Temple B'naii Israel has been the hub of Jewish acivity in central New Hampshire for the past 80 years.
The congregation is affiliated with Reform Judaism, however our members' beliefs and traditions range from traditional conservatism to modern versions of Reform practice.
We are active participants on the Lakes Region Interfaith Council of Religious Groups and play a positive role in the community at large.
High Holidays Potluck
All members of the community are invited to a potluck dinner preceding the S'lichot Service on Saturday, Sept. 20, and the Shabbat Shuvah service on Friday, Sept. 26, from 6 to 7 p.m. each night. Both potlucks are meat/parve. Please bring a dish to share if you can, however you are welcome to attend even if don't have time to cook. For more information, email Karen Rines at: email@example.com.
Big Band on Oct. 18
We close the 2014 TBI entertainment season at a new venue, The Winnipesaukee Playhouse in Meredith. This brand-new, state-of-the-art theater will host a change in music genre and will feature the Freese Brothers Big Band. There will be music from the big band era as well as music from today’s contemporary sounds. You will be able to dance or just listen to this 20-piece band in the comfortable seating of this theater opened just one year ago. Once again for 2014, net profits from this event will go to Lakes Region Community Services. Tickets will go on sale in September, so stay tuned.
2014 'We Care'
We thank our 2014 “ We Care” supporters. It is through their generosity that we are able to help those who help others. Please make use of their goods and services listed in the sponsor book (pdf.) and let them know how much we appreciate their support. The TBI “ We Care” program has chosen Lakes Region Community Services as its 2014 partner. TBI will hold two fund raising events for LRCS. The first was on June 7th with Gathering Time at the Belknap Mill and the second will be October 18th at the Winnipesaukee Playhouse with the Freese Brothers Big Band. LRCS will receive the proceeds from both events.
