Temple B'naii Israel has been the hub of Jewish acivity in central New Hampshire for the past 80 years.
The congregation is affiliated with Reform Judaism, however our members' beliefs and traditions range from traditional conservatism to modern versions of Reform practice.
We are active participants on the Lakes Region Interfaith Council of Religious Groups and play a positive role in the community at large.
Save These Dates!
June 7 - Enjoy a special evening with Gathering Time at the Belknap Mill. They are back by popular demand and bringing with them a special guest artist, Mara Levine, that we know you all will enjoy.
July 20 - Our Annual Jewish Food Festival returns. For the first time it will be held on the third weekend on July in order avoid conflicting with the NASCAR Race and its 100,000 fans who clog most of the local roadways. Cooking will begin soon and we will be reaching out to anyone who wants to lead and/or learn all of the techniques and recipes while participating at the many cooking sessions required to produce the variety of special foods presented at the Festival.
October 18 - We close the 2014 TBI entertainment season at a new venue: The Winnipesaukee Playhouse in Meredith. This brand new, state-of-the-art theater will host our final musical event for 2014. We are not ready to share the name of the group or the genre just yet, but those of you who have attended the TBI events over the last two years know we won’t disappoint.
More details as these events draw closer. One more thing…..
With the new-found success of our sponsor book over the last 18 months and the continued profitability of the Food Festival, the Board of Trustees, at the recommendation of the fund raising committee, has voted to donate the net proceeds from the two musical events (June 7th and October 18th) to local charities based in the Lakes Region. The charity that will be the recipient of the net proceeds from The Gathering Time event at The Belknap Mill on June 7th is Lakes Region Community Services (www.lrcs.org). The Board will determine October’s recipient later this year. We are very excited to be able to give support our local community and to help those who help others in our area.
